There’s always three sides to a story…

This involves Rusty Slammington.

And you can’t handle the truth!

To be honest, the last thing I wanted to see out of this automotive scene is people coming up with “conspiracy theories”. Turns out I was wrong. Apparently people don’t know how to differentiate whether or not Mike is making a joke post or a serious post.

If you’ve been posting on the StanceWorks forums for the past 2 years then of course, you can tell whether or not he is joking. If you haven’t, the “evidence” you have is taken out of context. Everything is supposed to have context. Taking it out only creates sensationalism and pure BS.

If I go to a random automotive forum where I don’t know the dynamics of how things go and see something that offends me, I screen cap it then post it here, that’s pretty much the equivalent of taking things out of context. If that happened to be you, you wouldn’t feel too good.

Speaking of sensationalism and taking things out of context. Let me create sensationalism with a sensational forum post. For example use #1.

(Well isn’t that convenient! A sensational headline!

The truth be told!? You don’t say! Have you spoken with Mike directly?)

(“Now the question is, was this a stunt pulled by Mike himself? Did he intentionally set his garage on fire? If so, why??”

Oh wait…no you haven’t…Instead of asking that “sensational” hypothetical question…WHY don’t YOU ask him yourself?

“This question has been raised by a number of his fans. They found it strange that the engine and Rotiform wheels were taken off before the incident. Does this have anything to do with it?”

If you read THIS thread, your answers would have been answered!

Working on a car is strange? Makes sense considering the stance scene lacks real wrenching. Or I don’t see enough of it.

Here, let me spoon feed it to you…

I had Rusty torn pretty far down because I was planning on some summer renovations, the main one being a shaved bay. I was also working on a new air management setup so I had the suspension off of the car sitting off to the side.

In the middle of all this, I decided to get Ratty’s old engine running while it was sitting in the driveway, all out of sheer boredom. I made a new wiring harness for the engine and during the starting process managed to hydro-lock one of the cylinders full of gasoline. I pulled the spark plugs to plunge the gas out, and while turning the engine over, the battery lead hooked up to the harness sparked. The fuel ignited and sent a fireball towards the garage. By sheer chance, the flaming gas landed directly on another 5 gallon tank of gas. The garage more or less exploded. It went up so fast that there was literally no stopping it.

“Some shocking news has surfaced about Mike wanting to do this for a while now. The proof has been found on Stancework’s forum.”

Holy crap! A screen cap from 2 years ago! I like how everyone thinks that they are some type of “automotive forum private investigator” all because of one screen cap. How is it proof if you’ve taken it out of context? Every forum has a different rhythm. Not all forums are the same. No one hired you so technically if you plan on taking this “private investigator” role, might as well take out confirmation biases you have and cross reference posts in the forum made by Burroughs. Because you know…sarcasm needs signs on the internet! You do realize that most of the people coming out of the woodwork with these caps are those that hate him? Coincidence? I don’t think so.)

I expected better class from a Forum Administrator. But hey, I guess you gotta do what you have to do to gain more members right?

Taking things out of context #2

Where is it from?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but not their own facts.

So let’s lay out the facts.

1) Rusty is under liability coverage not insurance. The car was already marked as “TOTALED”.
2) Not Mike’s Garage. Garage belongs to the owner that he is renting along with his roommates.
3) Owner will get paid/Mike didn’t have renter’s policy.

Money coming in? Don’t see it happening.
Only thing that matters to me is that Mike is okay.

You can always replace cars, but you can’t replace friends.
Your car may get features but it isn’t going to have your back.

Okay, I get it. You hate the guy for the things he does to his car. So what? You have 99 problems and what someone else does to their car is one? If the little things like that piss you off in the car scene, you need to get some anger management. Just saying. Not everyone aspires to be some famous race car driver. I know for a fact that you won’t be but you can always prove me wrong. :D If you plan on judging people, might as well take out confirmation biases you have of them. ;)

2 years is a pretty big gap and guess what? Accidents happen. Burroughs may be a internet celebrity but at the end of the day, he’s human. Everyone makes mistakes, that’s a part of life. Perfection doesn’t exist.

It’s not a conspiracy. Just irony played by Satan who wanted his car back.
