After Werks Reunion on Friday, Robert and I dropped to Laguna Seca and got lunch at Cruisin’ Cafe. Here are my highlights from Friday & Saturday. On Saturday after our volunteering with data entry as the Audience Survey Team and talking with the Assistant Director, Gordon and Karen were about to leave and we met them after several feet from the SCRAMP office. We also met up with Stanley of The Ku Cars and his girlfriend Jenn when we were crossing the Dunlop Bridge to check out the vendors. The timing of meeting up with them was perfect. I ended up buying a white 73 Carrera RS push car with blue stripes.

It was a few days before Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca and my friends were planning on logistics on what days we were planning to go. I was doing my usual Facebook routine until I saw some pictures of Werks Reunion prep by Porsche Club of America. Went onto their fan page and saw their cover photo of the 74 Carrera RS along with their website URL.
The Porsche Club of America is set to begin a new tradition in 2014 with the inaugural Werks Reunion. The new, premier Porsche event will take place on Friday, August 15, during the world-famous “Car Week” on California’s Monterey Peninsula. In years past, PCA co-hosted Legends of the Autobahn at the Rancho Canada Golf Club. All will be treated to a stunning display of more than 500 Porsches, access vendors, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow car enthusiasts. The 2014 show will feature the latest Porsches, special vehicle presentations, celebrity guests, and a surprise or two.
“Spectators are free to attend and I get to see 500+ Porsches!?”
I ended up carpooling with Robert and we planned on heading out there at 10:30AM. On our way, we ended up seeing a green McLaren P1 and lots of BMW i8s. Turns out BMW were delivering 10 i8s at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Carmel, California.
Thanks to Social Media, there has been an influx of new fan pages especially on Facebook. Now, this may or may not apply to you and I don’t care what type of blog you use. (WordPress/Blogspot/Tumblr)
